This single-storey Swedish red house sits in a 1,600 m² garden in a quiet cul-de-sac. At the front of the house is a veranda which gets the afternoon sun, while at the rear a large wooden deck gets the morning sun. The kitchen-diner seats 6 people and has glass doors opening onto the deck. The bright double-aspect living room includes a cosy wood-burning stove. The main heat source is an air pump.
The house has three bedrooms, one of which is currently arranged as the main study overlooking the front garden. A separate smaller office provides additional workspace. The main study has a wired fibre connection, while wifi is available throughout the house. There is a shower room with WC and a separate bathroom with bath, WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. Additional practical space includes a pantry, a storeroom, a walk-in wardrobe and a garden shed for bicycles and outdoor equipment.
The woodland immediately behind the house offers lit walking trails, an outdoor gym, and seasonal blueberry and mushroom picking. The Baltic Sea is around a 10-minute walk away, and ICA supermarket is just over one km from the house.
Trosa is one of Sweden's most traditional small towns, known for its winding river, colourful wooden houses and charming harbour. Along with its peaceful atmosphere and stunning archipelago, it has everything needed for everyday life, including supermarkets, delis, cafés, restaurants, a small cinema, several gyms, doctor, dentist, vet, schools and so on.
Commuting to Stockholm is straightforward either by fast train from nearby Vagnhärad Station (35 minutes) or direct bus (one hour). About half an hour from Södertalje.
The villa sits next to another cottage on the same plot (also owned by us). We are renting out the house as we are travelling in 2027 and into 2028. Inclusion of the cottage can be negotiated.
The villa is available from November 2026 to January 2028. There is some flexibility to extend by several months.
As we will be living overseas day to day communications will be with a trusted contact located in Trosa, who is an experienced landlord.
